Please join us for our monthly dinner meeting program - The January Association of Information Technology Professionals Atlanta Chapter Meeting will meet on Thursday January 17, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

We return from winter break with two interesting topics that combine both business and technology with an emphasis on technology. In addition, the 2013 Board of Directors will also be revealed.

Before dinner, Chip Hoffman, Managing Director at Veloxti, will present Artificial Intelligence: Highly Advanced Decision-Aiding Systems.

ABOUT THE TOPIC: Beyond advanced analytics, Chip Hoffman creates software that thinks like people do. Faster number crunching only goes so far. Learn how to build intelligent systems that use those results to provide evolutionary capability with revolutionary results.

Then after dinner our premier presentation entitled The Evolution of IT and the Emergence of BYOD will be presented by Matt Darlington, President and CEO of ITXen™.

ABOUT THE TOPIC: Technology innovation moves extremely fast. Just two years ago, a new employee would join and the IT department would configure a laptop or PC, put protection on it and deliver it to a particular standard that the organization followed set. The access method to connect to the internet was very device-oriented, with multiple logins to get to the applications. This approach is based on the device, not the human.

Now, with smartphones, tablets, and an Apple (fan) base, employees already have a bias for what their preferred device is to use. IT departments need to evolve and embrace the new trends (Bring Your On Device - BYOD) or they will be beaten up.

The goal of this presentation will be to outline a “blueprint” as to how an IT organization addresses the emergence of BYOD that provides employees with what they want while allowing businesses to incorporate the necessary security tools to align with corporate governances.
