Learn about the functionality changes in Moodle 2 and how it can improve the learning experience for your audience. This preconference session will cover completion tracking, conditional activities, mobile features, advanced grading rubrics, repositories, changes to the assignment module, and other functionality improvements found in Moodle 2. The format will be in the “Chad and Ben” talkshow format, where a casual tone will guide a conversation about the features, investigation when, where, why and how you can make use of the expanding Moodle 2 feature set.

I'm passionate about how technology can be used for social change. I primarily work for a non-profit organization the Neil Squire Society. We use technology and skills training to empower people with physical disabilities. I also work with Lambda Solutions, a certified Moodle Partner. I volunteer with NetTuesday, where we host free monthly workshops to connect social change makers with technology best practices. I'm also the new father of twins, and most likely to get injured playing sports.

Ben Young is the Director of Application Services for Lambda Solutions, a Canadian Moodle Partner. Lambda Solutions is the BC Campus Moodle Shared Services Partner, providing support for many post- secondary campuses in BC. Ben is an accomplished web developer with demonstrated leadership and management skills handling the running of online application services in the eLearning sector. He conducts needs analysis sessions for assessment of organizations web practices then recommends improvements in the areas of process and technology. With an educational background in Multimedia, Ben is experienced in custom web development that combines writing standards compliant code and integrating graphics, audio, and video for web base applications. Ben has more than five years of industry experience working independently or as part of a team to create engaging online experiences for over 150 organizations.
