Site Optimization Musts: Need for Speed 2

A session at CMS Expo 2013

Tuesday 14th May, 2013

3:30pm to 4:30pm (CST)

Come to "Need For Speed 2," presented by Rafael Corral, at the CMS Expo, for this newly updated session from last year's "Need For Speed." Speed is your friend. Without speed, your site will suffer, and you'll suffer. Faster-loading sites retain visitors. That's the goal of this must-attend session.

Amazon recently reported that every 100 milliseconds of latency can cost up to 1% in profit. Speed affects your Google Page Rank too. The faster, the better. Studies by Akamai put two seconds as the threshold for ecommerce site acceptability standard. Does your storefront load that fast? How about a second and a half? That's Google's recommendation.

Have you ever tested page response time on your site, shopping cart, blog or apps? In this valuable learning session, come learn how to not only test your site's response time, but discover the best way to minimize load-time and tune up your site's performance.

Site performance is a topic that needs to be discussed when doing a site design and not after a website has been developed. Combining stylesheets and images into sprites. There are not many successful sites that are slow, so what are you waiting for?

An understanding of server administration, CSS and JavaScript is highly recommended to get the most out of this session.

Key Points:

Top ten speed enhancement checklist
Avoid these speed traps!
CSS, JavaScript & Sprite tricks from an insider
Server & cloud enhancement solutions
All new tips and tricks for 2013!
