Why does this project exist? Why are we doing it this particular way? Why aren’t we instead focusing on other, more important things? When you find yourself asking these questions, you can cast aside doubts and just get on with the project, or you can start working to ensure that your UX work is appropriately, strategically aligned.
For many of us, engaging in corporate strategy might seem intimidating and out of the scope of our work, requiring a whole other set of skills, techniques and vocabulary. Yet, without getting involved, we can easily find ourselves on a depressing loop of working on the wrong things, in the wrong ways, at the wrong time. Find out how both a top-down and bottom-up approach can help you communicate about strategic alignment and achieve it in your work.
