Saturday 16th November, 2013
8:00pm to 9:30pm
To celebrate the success of the statue fund, we have arranged a gourmet buffet and reception based at the prestigious Linnean Society of London in Piccadilly, starting at 8pm after the ExCel event ends.
Attendees at the reception may, in recognition of their generous support for the statue fund, have the opportunity to meet our presenters including Bill Bailey, Richard Dawkins, Richard Fortey, Richard Wiseman and Quentin Cooper, plus many other people involved with the Wallace celebrations and the statue appeal.
It was at the Linnean Society in 1858 that the Darwin and Wallace papers outlining the theory of Evolution by Natural Selection were first read. The world would never be the same again.
There will be a private view of original Wallace memorabilia, including his Malay Archipelago notebooks and various artifacts, including the dried skin of the actual python shown in the famous ‘Ejecting an Intruder’ etching in The Malay Archipelago.
There will be a specially-commissioned Malayan jungle buffet, and Bollinger and fine wines will flow without end. It’s the Natural Selection: how can you resist?
Invitations to the event take the form of ‘at Home with Wallace’ cards, on which there appears no price or commercial information. You may specify any name to be written on the card. We will ask you to provide this information after your purchase.
150 tickets only! See website for details.
