Prior to that, Mr. Saylor was employed by E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company as a Venture Manager from 1988 to 1989 and by Federal Group, Inc. as a consultant from 1987 to 1988.
With degrees from MIT in Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering as well as Science, Technology, and Society, he is a science historian, and a formidable intellectual whom Slate called “mesmerizing.” He is not just a high-tech entrepreneur, but also a serious scholar whose success in business stems from his obsession since college—and really since childhood—with understanding what Thomas Kuhn calls the “structure of scientific revolutions.” He has appeared on 60 Minutes, Charlie Rose, Bloomberg TV, and CNBC and has been profiled in Newsweek, The New Republic, Time, Slate, Fortune, Forbes, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post.
