CTMM Annual Meeting

'Let's talk about Value'

12 September 2013 from 9am to 8pm

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

The theme of this year’s meeting - ‘Let’s talk about Value’ - celebrates a real milestone in CTMM’s achievements. Several of the first-call projects will be coming to an end in 2013, which means that this year’s Annual Meeting is the perfect place to highlight the clinical, commercial and societal value that they have created. We’ll show you how specific project results can be implemented in clinical practice, the benefits they will bring for patients, and the real value they will add to society and the Dutch economy.

You’ll also have the chance to hear what CTMM’s public-private partnerships have done for some of the people involved - the PhD students and PostDocs who have enhanced their careers, the academic institutions that have enhanced their reputations, and the project partners who have discovered new business opportunities.

The presentations in this year’s Let’s talk about Value program will cover all the angles from basic research to implementation in today’s healthcare environment, giving you a unique perspective on end-to-end translational research and its societal and economic impact. The start and finish times of all presentations will be synchronized so that you can easily switch between different tracks if your interests lie in more than one area.

The Annual Meeting is also a valuable opportunity to meet other members of the CTMM community in an informal environment where you can discuss the issues and put forward your own ideas. With the increasing emphasis on patient involvement in translational research, it will also be an ideal opportunity to talk to representatives from CTMM’s charitable foundations – the Dutch Arthritis Foundation, the Dutch Cancer Society, the Dutch Diabetes Foundation, the Dutch Kidney Foundation and the Dutch Heart Foundation. Several of these organizations are already putting initiatives in place to create a dialogue between researchers, end users and patients in order to enhance the relevance of future medical research.
