Hands On With Computer Engineering

A session at Bring IT, Together [ECOO & OASBO]

Friday 25th October, 2013

12:00pm to 12:45pm (EST)

Just how do computers work? How can we use them to do useful things - like display information, play games and move stuff around? Just what makes them tick? Could I build one and what would that look like?

These questions and more are explored in a quick tour of the projects, successes and challenges that have been taking place in several TEJ courses I have been teaching over the past two years.

Using Arduino, Processing, Python, Raspberry Pi, logic gates, circuit simulation software and assembly language are all touched on. Also a short reflection on my own learning and explorations that have taken place as part of teaching these courses.
