Startup communities are popping up everywhere, from Silicon Valley to Santiago and even in countries such as Iceland. These types of entrepreneurial ecosystems are driving innovation and small business energy, building communities of entrepreneurs who can feed off of each others talent, creativity, and support. Explorer, André Leonardo Tour
André is a 24 years old entrepreneur that was born is the Azores Islands (Portugal). He is the promoter and explorer of the “André Leonardo Tour”, an entrepreneurship round the world tour where he is going to travel alone with his backpack and a camera for several months reporting entrepreneurship cases and entrepreneurial real stories! It’s a social project where he aims to collect real stories to inspire everyone spread the Portuguese culture and show how good and talented are the Portuguese companies and entrepreneur.
André is going in search of Fernão Magalhães bastards and he is going to visit countries like Tanzania, Kenya, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, U.S.A and England – among others! André is a traveler, an entrepreneur, a social causes guy, a sports lover, a dreamer, an optimist, a person that doesn’t like to play by the book and someone that is always ready for a new challenge or idea! He has been working, developing and launching entrepreneurship projects since he was young. Among other things, he has created an international inspirational movement BE BOLD and organized non-profit international entrepreneurship events for hundreds of people.
Bjoern was born in Germany, and has become a recognized entrepreneur and expert on data products, data driven decision making, education, innovation, entrepreneurship and organizational development. He founded and led 5 for and nonprofit ventures in Germany, Bangladesh & the US. He also worked as an executive in Russia for one year for a midsized marketing firm.
In his free time he is an advisor to multiple for and non profit (e.g. Startup Canada, Startup Malaysia), a mentor for the Thiel Fellowship, Startup Bootcamp and Spark Labs and a speaker at various conferences (e.g Strata & Hadoop World, Pioneers Festival, Int. Startup Festival) and Universities (e.g. Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, SU). He is also a member of the Sandbox Network, the WEF GS and the Silicon Valley Leadership group. Bjoern’s personal passion or “leitmotif” is: unleashing human potential. His higher purpose is to strive to maximize the capitalization of every single individual.
Paddy, 29, is an entrepreneur living in Dublin, Ireland. He is the founder of F.ounders, an annual private gathering of some of the world leading tech company founders, described as Davos for Geeks and by Bloomberg. In October 2010, 150 founders gathered in Dublin, including the founders of Twitter, Youtube and Skype. He previously founded MiCandidate, a service that provided real time political content to media companies in 25 European countries. It was acquired in 2009. In 2009, Paddy co-founded, the Undergraduate Awards of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a foundation that supports and celebrates outstanding undergraduate students in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Paddy also runs the Dublin Web Summit and in 2008 was selected by the UN as a Global e-Leader for Youth and ICT.

Mark is an independent consultant concentrating on the development of projects combining creative media and digital technologies, with a specific focus on making strategic connections to international markets.
With 20 years experience across the creative industries, and a background which spans a range of organisational structures (including regional development agency, dot com start up, national broadcaster, international corporation and independent consultant) Mark has a track record of raising finance and developing and delivering innovative ideas from both the public and private sector.
Mark is now pursuing new opportunities which explore the evolution of the media landscape in a digital age, and the potential offered to the creative media industries across a globalised economy.
