Everyone's trying to replicate Silicon Valley startup ecosystem but each region should find its own model. As Brazil and Italy are launching ambitious programs, Israel is considered the startup-nation. What can we learn from each other? Moderation to be announced.
Bizzabo, which Eran co-founded in 2011, helps event goers meet, mingle and connect with others, while providing event organizers with a simple self service platform to mobilize and socialize their events like never before. Under Eran’s leadership and in just a little over a year, Bizzabo raised a $1.5M seed round, socialized hundreds of high-profile events, and won several respectful awards (most promising Israeli startup for 2012 among others). Before founding Bizzabo, Eran was the CEO of Rosh-Pina Media Convention, one of Israel’s most prominent yearly events. He was also a project leader and system engineer at Elbit Systems.
Rafael has a MBA, Computer Engineer (PUC-Rio) and is founder of 21212 Digital Accelerator in 2011 and Movile in 2000 – a Brazilian software company presents in 7 countries that develops interactive products for social medias – and since 2008, part of NASPERS/MIH group. As responsible for Innovation and Marketing, has created several products used by more than 100 million users in Latin America.
He was selected as a “High Potential Entrepreneur” by the Endeavor Global Institute, as well as “Entrepreneur of the New Brazil” by “Exame/Voce SA” Magazine – one of the major Brazilian business magazines – has also participated as Entrepreneurship Specialist in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, an annual entrepreneurship research program led by the London Business Scholl and Babson College over 39 countries. Rafael is also speaker in several conferences about entrepreneurship, innovation and social media (in Brazil, USA and Japan) is also entrepreneurship professor at IBMEC Business Scholl.
Maurizio is a talented visionary in the field of entrepreneurship - he has assembled an amazing portfolio. He likes to observe and understand people's lifestyles and their local traditions. At the beginning of his career he worked for a family-run company called Rossimoda, market leader of luxury women's footwear, where his main commitment was new product-line spin-offs and market expansion. He also launched Vista Point, a business unit dedicated to internationally expanding leading US action-sports brands such as NoFear, Spy Optics and DC.
He then decided to Co-Found of H-FARM VENTURES an entrepreneurial ecosystem that redefines the role of venture capital and incubator. The company explores the barrier of the internet in search of dynamic business models and new digital technologies, providing a unique support to start-ups, from capital resources to a full range of services to enable a rapid growth.
