Humanists have always been generous and compassionate. But until recently, the organized freethought community has been focused mainly on ideas and activism, while our generosity and compassion took place on the individual level, separate from our identity as humanists. A sea change in the movement is now making compassionate humanism a bigger part of what we do together as a community, and in the process changing the way we look at ourselves and our worldview.
