Software developers face an avalanche of information daily. These developers must deal with a large amount of source code, bug reports, system test data, questions from team members, notifications about project status and so on. Somehow, developers must find the pertinent pieces within this information morass to inform the changes they make to complete the tasks on which they are working. In this talk, I will describe how pertinent information can be surfaced to developers through such techniques as task-focused interfaces and summarization.
