Breaking the Divide for Great Web Apps

A session at HighEdWeb New England

Monday 18th March, 2013

2:30pm to 2:40pm (EST)

Too often, the divide between academic and administrative computing on college campuses cripples good ideas and application/web development. Moreover, modern web developers may have trouble or limitations both accessing and modifying data housed in administrative systems such as Banner, Colleague or PeopleSoft. Come hear how Hampshire College has long used direct access to our adminsitrative database (Colleague) to enable internal web applications, and how a recent reorganization within IT will accelerate our ability to utilize data from multiple sources and develop contemporary web applications for both internal and external audiences.
