Is there still a return in Solar?

A session at Is there still a return in Solar?

Wednesday 20th November, 2013

6:00pm to 9:00pm (PST)

In the past few years, segments of the solar industry have been the source of bankruptcies and unprofitable business models. Investors have therefore been cautious about investing in the solar industry, slowing down the rate of innovation. A recent flurry of major fundraising by Sungevity, OneRoof Energy, and SunRun, as well as the successful IPO of SolarCity have brought the industry back into the limelight.

We’ve assembled a panel of very qualified and seasoned speakers:

  • Tim Derrick, President and General Manager North America, SunEdison
  • Sheldon Kimber, Chief Operating Officer, Recurrent Energy
  • Nat Kreamer, President and CEO, Clean Power Finance
  • Brad Mattson, CEO, Solexant
  • Mark Tholke, VP of Development, West Region, EDF Renewable Energy

They will look at companies that are making headlines – such as First Solar, SolarCity, SunPower, SunEdison, EDF Renewable Energy, Solexant, Clean Power Finance, Recurrent Energy – and debate whether they can reach a state of “healthy returns”, share what they learned from recent industry failures, how they’ve managed to remain successful in times of turmoil, and where they are heading now.
