Profiling techniques for Delphi

A session at ITDevCon 2013

Friday 15th November, 2013

5:05pm to 6:15pm

In this session I will talk about various profiling techniques, from using the Delphi IDE itself to sampling and instrumenting tools. I will give some demos to show you how to find and optimize some simple but frequently found bottlenecks, using different techniques (I will mainly use my own open source asmprofiler). You don't have to shame if you use a profiler, but you should be ashamed for slow code! If time permits it, I will also show some other debugging techniques, like using a live stack viewer and a minidump reader.
