Troubleshooting Windows Boot Performance

A session at Jacksonville IT Pro Camp

Saturday 15th June, 2013

1:15pm to 2:15pm (EST)

Troubleshooting slow boot performance in Windows can be a daunting task. It is time consuming and sometimes frustrating. However it is an extremely valuable skill to have, more than you may believe. If you are the one to resolve slow boot performance on your customers’ computers, you will become the hero of your organization. Microsoft has provided a toolset called the Windows Performance Toolkit (WPT) to help you research and locate boot performance issues in the Windows Client and Windows Server operating systems. This session will discuss some real world boot capture examples from the speaker’s customers. This session will also provide real world examples of how to install the WPT as well as how to use it to capture and analyze a boot log in real time.
