Office 365 Licensing with Powershell

A session at Jacksonville IT Pro Camp

Saturday 15th June, 2013

12:00pm to 1:00pm (EST)

License management in Office 365 is largely left to the customer to implement. While it’s possible to assign licenses to users through the web portal, this doesn’t scale well for anything other than the smallest environments and doesn't go well with environments where automated account provisioning is in use.

This talk will discuss how licensing works in the Office 365 cloud and demonstrate use of the Windows Powershell module for Azure AD and Office 365 for several licensing-related tasks: viewing license information, adding and removing licenses, how to manage functionality “granularly” by enabling/disabling specific features and other useful tips that can be used both interactively and also under automatic control.

It will be assumed that the audience is already familiar with the basics of Powershell.
