Groupon’s messaging infrastructure is built with HornetQ - a messaging system from JBoss.
Two designs currently co-exist in Groupon to meet different requirements: a horizontally partitioned multi-broker cluster that provides strong scalability guarantee, and a single-broker, auto-failover model that allows thin client and ordering guarantee. Over a hundred million messages are being transmitted daily on these clusters.
This talk will discuss the infrastructure and performance data of our messaging platforms, and compare them with the clustering feature provided by HornetQ.
