How (and why) to build your web site using Google App Engine

You will learn how to develop your site on top of Google's powerful technical infrastructure using App Engine

16 August 2013

Currently in read only mode, sorry about that, please try again in a few hours.

This event is free, but you must pre-register because capacity is limited, and we need to provide a list of attendees to our building security at least 24 hours in advance.

You will learn how to develop your site on top of Google's powerful technical infrastructure using App Engine:

  • When your new site gets slashdotted, let the same scalable infrastructure that serves google.com handle your load.
  • No system administrator? No problem. The platform provides load balancing, a replicated Datastore, full management of the underlying OS, automatic provisioning of new instances and much more.
  • How to think like a Googler when designing your application: some design patterns and anti-patterns, performance tuning tips.
  • Examples of applications that are successfully using this platform.
  • We will also provide you with details on how to get $1,000 in credits for your startup using App Engine.

2 speakers

  • John Lowry Technical solutions engineer working in Google's San Francisco office. He has been part of the App Engine team since March 2012.
