SCVNGR Hunt: Technological Triumph or Torture?

A session at MLA/DLA Annual Conference 2013

  • Sarah Burns Gilchrist

Thursday 9th May, 2013

10:45am to 12:00pm (EST)

An ever-increasing portion of the population accesses the internet via mobile technology. As we continue to become more reliant on hand-held devices, libraries will continue to provide ways to reach their patrons using new programs. Two librarians charged with finding and implementing emerging technologies and game-based learning tools discovered and created SCVNGR-based outreach and marketing programs. Learn how to create your own geo-location-based outreach and marketing while listening to our successes and failures. A post-lecture scavenger hunt will provide hands-on experience with SCVNGR. Bring your mobile devices and get ready to plug in, tune in, and learn!
