When was the last time you visited Baltimore’s Fort McHenry? Last summer? A few years ago? Maybe when you were on an elementary school field trip? Well, it’s time to come visit it again and learn more about this site’s historical role in the War of 1812. Vince Vaise, Chief of Interpretation for Fort McHenry, will outline the causes of the War of 1812, pointing out how the conflict affected the Chesapeake Bay region. He will highlight the importance of the Battle of Baltimore as a turning point in the war. In addition, he will showcase online resources, educational programs available to the public, and other sites that relate to the conflict.
