The Maryland State Library Resource Center: An Introduction and Reintroduction to Maryland’s State Library

A session at MLA/DLA Annual Conference 2013

Thursday 9th May, 2013

3:45pm to 5:00pm (EST)

Did you have a tough time puzzling through the ballot initiatives in this last election and wished you had had a guide or two to help you along? Are you getting the most out of the best web resources that you can link directly to or copy for your web page? Do you know all there is to know about the Special Collections available to you and your customers at SLRC?

Have you had customers in need of primary source material, genealogical resources, or research on the U.S. Civil War or the War of 1812, and you didn’t have quite what they wanted? Or have you ever wondered just how Edgar Allen Poe died on that cold November day in Baltimore? Maryland’s State Library, your State Library Resource Center or SLRC, has the answers to all of these questions and many more. Whether you work in a school or public library, academic or special library, you and your customers alike can count on SLRC to provide that added information so needed to fill information requests, both general and obscure. Wesley Wilson, the Chief of SLRC, will share and exhibit SLRC resources and training opportunities that await you at SLRC.
