Bridget Williams Books (BWB) is an award-winning New Zealand publisher. For over three decades, books published by BWB’s director, Bridget Williams, have contributed to critical scholarship in New Zealand. Titles include Claudia Orange’s Treaty of Waitangi, Judith Binney’s Redemption Songs and Encircled Lands, Jessie Munro’s The Story of Suzanne Aubert and in 2014 Tangata Whenua: An Illustrated History. BWB is now taking these works into a digital world, using an in-house and standards-based workflow focused on high-qualty digital publishing.
The value (and costs) identified with digital publishing – by publishers, institutions and readers – is of critical importance and is the focus of this brief presentation by Tom Rennie, the digital publishing lead at BWB.
Tom Rennie is associate publisher at BWB, bringing publishing experience from the United Kingdom to bear on the New Zealand context.
