Intel Atom for Makers and the DIY Community

A session at Open Source Bridge 2013

Thursday 20th June, 2013

4:45pm to 5:30pm (PST)

As costs have come down and the power of embedded platforms has increased, the hacker/maker community is playing an increasingly critical role in the creation of disruptive technologies. The "Next Big Thing" will likely start out as a hacker project using a commodity embedded hardware platform.

This talk will introduce you to the MinnowBoard, an affordable, open source hardware platform powered by an Intel Atom processor. It will also cover the development of an autonomous robotics project powered by Minnow and the Yocto Project embedded Linux platform.
