More and more workloads are beoing pushed to the cloud every month. Hadoop seems the best example of a cloud application, but there's more than meets the eye. This session will focus on the main différences between on-premise and cloud hadoop setups, notably to see what are the impacts of storage and elasticity.

Senior program manager, Criteo

Pierre Couzy, senior program manager at Criteo - a global technology company that enables companies to leverage large volumes of data to efficiently and effectively attract, engage and convert their customers. He is a veteran speaker at tech conferences (since 1997) giving lectures on topics related to security, the architecture of web applications, and NoSQL approaches. Previously employed by Microsoft he primarily worked on open source and the cloud, interoperability, and identity management. He was involved in the integration of Drupal 7 with SQL Server and Windows Azure, as well as the implementation of projects in php, node.js and MongoDB on Windows Azure.
