The FIT platform, an open platform for all your IoT experiences

A session at Open World Forum 2013

  • Nathalie Mitton

Friday 4th October, 2013

11:15am to 12:00pm (PMT)

The FIT platform is an EquipEx or Equipement d'Excellence. FIT offers a federation of several independent experimental testbeds to provide a larger-scale, more diverse and higher-performance platform for accomplishing advanced experiments. Such federation of independent network experimental facilities is perhaps the only meaningful way to achieve the required scale and realism for supporting Future Internet research. The project includes three types of tesbeds, located at mulitple sites across France: five wireless sensor and robot network platforms, three [Wi-fi mesh testbeds](http://fit-equipex.fr/testbeds/wi-fi-mesh), and finally a [Cognitive radio testbed](http://fit-equipex.fr/testbeds/cognitive-radio), allowing experimenters to test ways of optimizing the use of radio frequencies for wireless applications. All these testbeds are interconnected and experiences could be launched on each site with direct connections between them.

All these testbeds are completely open and one can reserve the resources and run its own experimentation on them.

This talk will provide a description of the FIT platforms and all the services it offers to the community.
