In this talk, Christine Murphy will explain the best way to use JetBrains Dot Trace to allow the Developer to improve performance of their application.
She will be using many code samples in multiple languages and platforms to show you the best way to go about making performance enhancements to your code.
This talk will not simply be about how to make performance gains, but will also discuss which performance gains you should NOT try to attempt.
This talk is a Mid to Senior level tak, and you should understand C#, JAVA, or VB.net. The practices that Christine will discuss are practices that can be applied to both Web and Windows.
Christine Murphy is a Software Engineer who has been working with .net since Beta(2001).
She is currently working as a Software Engineer in Test for Sungard. She is learning a new language (Iron Python) to create integration tests for API calls. She is using Robot Framework / Iron Python / C# to accomplish this.
She loves to fix performance issues, and has discovered that no matter the platform (Web / Windows / C# / VB) she employs the same process for fixing them. She desires to share with you all that she has learned, and help you to be even more successful at it than she was to begin with.
She has experience with agile, full life-cycle development, testing, design, analysis, database development, windows development, web development, and client/server development. Her one true passion is quality, and anything that will help her attain it. She is interested in Agile, TDD, BDD, and IOC with dependency injection, and owning and continually enhancing her code, regardless of language or platform.
