PHP and Microsoft: the story nobody told you

A session at PHP Conference Argentina

Friday 4th October, 2013

6:40pm to 7:10pm (CMT)

We know that PHP did not always work perfectly on Windows platforms. That is why over the last few years Microsoft has made a relevant investment in PHP, through actions such as:

  • Windows Server was optimized to be compatible with PHP applications that run through FastCGI
  • The PHP driver for SQL Server was released
  • WebMatrix was launched, a powerful development tool with completely integrated support for PHP applications

However this will not be a session about simply showing an alternative hosting platform. We will debate topics such as:

  • Distributed architectures
  • How to plan for high traffic when developing PHP applications
  • How to work with relational (or non-relational) databases
  • How to properly and easily scale infrastructure
  • Working with Windows Azure

We also hope this will be a perfect opportunity for you to talk with Microsoft. We want to know what challenges and opportunities you face on your job, and how can we assist you.
