With advances brought to us by HTML5, modern browsers and free libraries like CreateJS, we can create games and rich interactive experiences more easily than before. In this workshop, we will show how you can use HTML5 to build games and interactive experiences today (with plenty of demos to pull apart). Then we will show how you can take those HTML5 games and migrate them to Windows 8 to take advantage of monetization opportunities with over 60 million potential users.
Oh yes, we will be talking about a Yeti too.

Thomas Lewis (@TommyLee) is a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft who at 8 years old thought that there was a frog apocalypse happening in his yard. It just turned out that the rain made all the frogs come out and hop around. He has been at Microsoft for over 12 years and has evangelized everything from Visual Basic 6 to HTML5 to Design for web developers and designers world-wide. He even once ate a “century egg” while in China. When not talking about the brutality of HTML5, Design and Windows 8, he enjoys his family, wine, death metal and all things 80’s. He is also bent on eradicating IE6 from the planet and will never stop, never.

Migrating an HTML5 Game to Windows 8
You have an HTML5 game and want to take advantage of all the greatness that the Windows 8 platform give you (like possibly making a lot of scratch). This session will show you how you can take an existing HTML5 app and migrate it to a Windows Store app.
This session will combine the lessons learned in Game Object & System Details and Extending the Game with Windows Store Features.
