Be SAFE: Addressing Bullying in Out-of-School Time Settings

A session at Priester National Health Extension Conference

Tuesday 16th April, 2013

2:40pm to 3:40pm (PST)

This engaging session focuses on the complex issues of bullying, bias and harassment. Participants will learn about a new Michigan State University Extension initiative called Be SAFE: Safe, Affirming and Fair Environments. Be SAFE taps the wisdom and resiliency of young people and invites adults to work in partnership with youth to create environments that are physically and emotionally safe for all. Be SAFE is designed for 11-14 year olds and the adults who work with them in 4-H and other out-of-school time programs. Participants will receive information about ways to use Be SAFE in a variety of community settings.
