Collaboration through Shared Mission: Creating a Network of Trained Behavioral Health Civilian Providers with Knowledge to More

A session at Priester National Health Extension Conference

Wednesday 17th April, 2013

10:50am to 11:50am (PST)

Collaboration between Indiana National Guard, Indiana National Guard Bureau’s Director of Psychological Health, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, the Center for Deployment Psychology, and the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University created a training, dissemination and referral system aimed at expanding access to trained behavioral health providers for service members, veterans, and their families as well as military medical providers. Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP) is an initiative which provides evidence-based training for civilian behavioral health clinicians and a mechanism for service members, veterans, families and others impacted by military service to locate these specially trained providers.
