Your Logs Need Structure

A session at Python User Group Meeting: Your Logs Need Structure

Hynek Schlawack: «Logging isn’t exactly fun. But unless you make sure that your logs are complete and parsable, the real pain starts as soon as your app enters production and you need to extract information from them.
I’ll review the reasons why you don’t want to use format strings or even prose for your log files and introduce my project structlog that helped me to eliminate hundreds of lines of logging boilerplate code in all kinds of code bases.»
