How Does Astrology Work?

A session at Skeptics on the Fringe 2013

  • Miss Twist

Saturday 10th August, 2013

7:50pm to 8:50pm (GMT)

Astrology features in a number of daily and weekly newspapers, ranging from Metro to The Sunday Times, and almost everyone knows what their star sign is. But how does it work?

By a process of elimination, Twist will examine the history of western astrology, how constellations and planets fit in, some earthly explanations, how well it works for relationships and the psychology behind it.

Come along and find out the truth about your zodiac sign!

Miss Twist is Edinburgh Skeptics’ poster girl and may well be responsible for more confusion, unblinking stares, awkward silences and mildly panicked tourists than the rest of the UK Skeptics movement combined.

Twist has been part of Edinburgh Skeptics since 2010, introducing speakers and giving talks on topics ranging from a skeptical look at clothing and the science in science fiction, and has occasionally modelled dresses for a local fashion shop.

This is Twist’s second talk for Skeptics on the Fringe.
