OSM and disability: beyond wheelchair=*

A session at State of the Map 2013

Friday 6th September, 2013

4:30pm to 4:50pm (GMT)

Christian Quest
Accessibility goes far beyond wheelchair access and our famous wheelchair=* tag. This talk will describe the work done in France around this topic, ranging from detailed indoor mapping to map rendering for visually impaired users.
It will also cover partnerships with national train company (SNCF), cities (Orange, Montpellier) related to accessibility mapping, tools that have been developed in that area and how such a theme attracts new contributors to OSM.
