Councils in the United Kingdom are required or recommended to provide certain localised information, including parking facilities, cycle planners, street lighting, gritting routes. Some local government have already chosen to begin using OpenStreetMap- derived data to provide these services, particularly through auxiliary services such as CycleStreets. We take a quick look at how individual councils already deploy OSM, giving a range of "serving suggestions" that can be used as starting points for local government staff needing to deploy their own Open Data systems.
