This session will talk about why you might want to join or start a local meetup group, how to get it started, and how to keep momentum up. Kathleen, one of the organizers of the very active Washington, DC geo group as well as other local communities, will discuss:

  • Why meet in person?
  • How to find mappers near you
  • How to assess your community‚Äôs needs
  • Strategies to spread the word
  • Ideas around keeping momentum up
