Fundraising for Games: A Practical Discussion

A session at SXSW Interactive 2013

Saturday 9th March, 2013

12:30pm to 1:30pm (CST)

Over the last 15 years, J Todd Coleman has been a successful entrepreneur and game developer, acting as the creative lead and product head of three large-scale MMOs (Shadowbane, Wizard101 and Pirate101) and founding numerous companies. Over the course of his career, he has raised money in almost every way imaginable: friends & family, angel financing, venture capital, traditional publishing, international publishing, and working with a single owner/investor.

As he starts his next venture, join him for a working session to talk through the pros and cons of each approach (and new approaches, such as crowdsourcing) and to dive into the practical resources that your game will require -- from concept to development to live.
