We hold regular meetups and micro-conferences, inviting a host of prominent professionals in the world of web to share their experiences and offer guidance to those new to the arena. With a philosophy of simplicity and conciseness, nearly all talks are shorter than 20 minutes and refreshingly “data-light”.
*What do we talk about?
Subjects vary depending on the speaker, but each talk is focused towards learners and encourages interactivity. We attempt to cover all areas of importance to those new to working in web. Our aim is to whet the appetite for a rounded “Webucation” and direct learners towards the incredible materials found online so principles introduced here can be put into practice.
*Who is the audience?
Anyone just stepping into the field of web design, web development, online marketing, content creation and so on will find tremendous benefit in attending our events. A full understanding of the fundamentals is essential for a successful career in web.
Of course, gaining this understanding is more difficult than it should be. With so many books, articles and videos available it’s hard to find good starting point. Our talks look to introduce the fundamentals gently, openly and without the barriers sometimes found elsewhere.
*What we are NOT
Every night in London you can find a group of professionals gathered to digest a presentation on a particular technology. These meetups are fantastic and a credit to the community. Untangle the Web doesn’t contend with these events, we will rarely go into the analytical depths you may see elsewhere. We offer byte-sized, short-burst groundings in subjects and use our community to seek out resources for extending our understanding of the web.
