Ray Rothrock

Chairman, NVCA

Ray A. Rothrock is a Partner at Venrock. He joined Venrock in 1988. Mr. Rothrock served as a General Partner since 1995 and a Managing General Partner since 2001. He focused on investments in security, energy and nanotechnology, and material sciences sectors. Mr. Rothrock is investing for more than 20 years and has made over 40 investments.

Mark Heesen has advocated for the venture capital industry, entrepreneurship and innovation for nearly two decades, first as NVCA's head of public policy and, since 1999 as the Association's president. Under Mark's leadership, the NVCA has grown in both scope and scale as it relates to its public policy agenda, research initiatives, and member programs. Mark is constantly engaged in legislative and regulatory issues surrounding information technology, life sciences and clean technology investing, providing strategic direction for the NVCA professional staff and managing a board of 26 venture capital practitioners.

CEO and Co-Founder of 23andMe

Anne co-founded 23andMe in 2006 after a decade spent in healthcare investing, focused primarily on biotechnology companies. Her hope was to empower consumers with access to their own genetic information and to create a way to generate more personalized information so that commercial and academic researchers could better understand and develop new drugs and diagnostics.

Craig Kielburger

Co-Founder, Free The Children

Craig Kielburger is a social entrepreneur, New York Times best-selling author, and syndicated columnist.

He co-founded Free The Children in 1995 when he was 12-years-old. Today, more than 1.7 million young people involved in its programs. In North America, including via a satellite office in Palo Alto, the organization provides comprehensive service-learning programs, including its We Day celebrations attended annually by more than 100,000 students from 3,000 participating schools. Internationally, the organization works in eight developing countries providing a holistic and sustainable development model, including education, health care, food security, clean water, and alternative income programs. Its programs have empowered more than one million beneficiaries.

Managing Director, Private Markets, University of Texas Investment Management Company

As Managing Director for UTIMCO, Lindel is responsible for overseeing the private investment program. The private investment portfolio represents approximately 25% of endowment assets spread across multiple mandates including venture, growth, buyout and credit investments in developed and emerging markets.

Jamey is a Managing Director for the Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners Private Equity Fund of Funds (“MSAIP”) group. In a prior life, he was a serial entrepreneur, co-founding four businesses, including two marketing automation service companies, a New York-based private advisory firm and a gourmet pizza restaurant.
