PHP is born in 1995. So many features and improvements have been added to the language since the PHP3 time !
In this talk, we will recall briefly PHP's history, present its contributors and eco-system, and detail where we are nowadays.
PHP 5.5 will be at the heart of the conference, and we'll review together some new features it adds.
We'll also foresee how performance of the language have evolved throught the years.
Finally, a chapter about "does and donts", or what to do and not to do with the PHP language.
At the end, you'll have a nice fresh idea of what PHP is, and how to use it in your everyday's projects.
