Breaking REST rules – experiences from a heretic REST api

A session at Web-5 Conference 2013

Saturday 15th June, 2013

11:25am to 12:10pm (PMT)

Roy Fielding introduced REST in a paper in 2000. For some that ancient wisdom is a religious bible meant to be followed in the purest of ways.

But technologies have changed since then, clients share and shape data differently, and no besides what fun is it if we dont break a few rules.

Lets examine what we when we mix in a few concepts from other topics such as CQRS to achieve javascript clients that:
can be remote controlled, easily tested, allow experimentation, and efficiently synchronize data.
