How to Make Big Things Happen with a Small Doc Team

A session at WritersUA East

Monday 28th October, 2013

3:55pm to 4:25pm (EST)

Eagle Investment Systems’ Documentation Team faced a challenging dilemma. Sixty percent of their time was spent writing release notes. Forty percent was spent updating large encyclopedic type manuals written by the development team. The challenge? Get the release notes out, update the encyclopedic type manuals AND create a new doc set for Eagle’s investment accounting, data management, and performance measurement solutions. Learn how Meredith and her team of five writers leveraged the development team to create release notes and put in place documentation processes using strategies such as information architecture, minimalism, reuse, and topic-based writing to enable the development of an online help system in six months.
