Moon walking with JavaScript

A session at YUIConf 2013

Wednesday 6th November, 2013

2:30pm to 3:00pm (PST)

This talk is about the techniques I used to make my page run perceivably faster, especially on http://developer.yahoo.com/forum. This talk is a case study with examples: Some techniques include using local storage & document.write to make lazy-loaded modules look normal and instantly loaded, how I used Y.substitute and JSON and local caching to make an instant search interface, how I made multiple parallel HTTP calls and received a result in a single callback for speed, and how to achieve speed using eval to compile JavaScript code on modern JS engines.
