Building on the great work of Sakai 2.9, Sakai 10 is really a close relative of 2.9, renamed and rebranded to better reflect Sakai's trajectory. Sakai 10 significant updates, in some cases overhauls, in at least a dozen tools including, but not limited to Assignments, Lessons, LTI, Resources (Content), Search, and Syllabus. The Sign up tool from Yale, the most popular Contrib tool in use by the community is being added to Sakai core as a new addition.
Of course, we are on the leading edge of IMS LTI with the LTI 2 tool. And we are an early adopter of xAPI (aka TinCan API) which is an open source technology designed to capture learning experiences in a consistent format. Come get a comprehensive overview, focusing on the functional improvements that will be of most interest to users of the Sakai system and potential adopters.
