Open, hack, bend, rewire, fork, and mod

A session at Assembly Summer 2014

Thursday 31st July, 2014

7:00pm to 8:00pm (HMT)

Programming is not just writing code, it is the power to combine tools to get something done. Different metaphors (text-based code, data flow graph, timeline, spreadsheet, canvas) let us work on a problem with different parts of the brain. It would be nice to stitch together the appropriate tools for the task at hand. Forrest Oliphant has been working on this with his thesis at Media Lab Helsinki (http://meemoo.org/) and current crowd-funded startup (http://flowhub.io/). This talk will include hands-on time for getting started with these tools (web-based, no installation needed). Make an animated GIF, or an animation app!
