3:05pm to 4:20pm
Session Level: 100
Last May, the BoRG taught eight families to make their first robot. We started with families who had never picked up a soldering iron or digital multimeter. The class was offered through community education, which is part of the Boise school district. At the end of four weeks, most of our families has soldered a robot brain, made a robot body, and programmed their new robot to follow a line. The class was made more affordable by the donations we received. The December 2013 issue of Servo magazine has an article about the class.
This presentation will explain how the class operated, our results, and some of the lessons we learned. We plan to offer this class again and would like to pass the word and encourage more mentors to participate.
