People are still talking about 3D printing changing the world. But change doesn’t happen overnight. Join us as we share about our struggles and successes with our innovation project. (From positive networking with colleagues, and collaborative problem solving, to software and workflow issues and performance breakdowns)
We’re discovering that students need to completely rethink how they design things, to capitalize on the strengths (and address the limitations) of this process. We’re questioning how to allow kids to fail and experience the iterative process, while still working within the time constraints the 3D printer imposes within our current school model. And we’re pondering what exactly does it mean to bring a piece of manufacturing technology into school?
We’ll share about the ongoing development of a MakerSpace, and the building of pinball machines using the 3D printer as "just another tool in the shop".
