A session at Frontend Conference Zurich 2014

Wednesday 27th August, 2014

8:30am to 5:00pm (CET)

JavaScript has grown up and its popularity has expanded far beyond web browsers – to servers, mobile and desktop applications, databases, robots and more. It is therefore increasingly important to know this language well.

This workshop is for people who are already programming JavaScript and would like to get acquainted more deeply with it. I will cover the history and background of JavaScript, power features (property attributes, integers, etc.), lesser-known pitfalls (Unicode, array indices, etc.) and coding patterns (IIFE, etc.).

We won’t go into browser-related topics (rendering performance, etc.), but I will give an introduction to module systems and to asynchronous programming.
