Designing Newspaper Features for the Internet: How the Guardian Makes Long-form, Rich interactives

A session at Future of Web Design

  • Robin Beitra

Wednesday 9th April, 2014

12:15pm to 12:55pm (GMT)

This session will explore how the Guardian is telling long-form stories through multimedia interactives. Using ‘Firestorm’ as a case study, the Guardian Interactive team will walk you through the whole process: the story, the filmmaker and journalists' time in Tasmania, the design process and prototyping, the development and the challenges they found technically along the way. They’ll talk about how the project was managed - practically and editorially - whether they ultimately succeeded in their aims for the project, and the future of online storytelling.
