ThunderCommander: Control a USB Missile Launcher with nodeJS & AngularJS

A session at FrankfurtJS March 2014

Wednesday 19th March, 2014

6:45pm to 7:30pm (CET)

Some weeks ago I was searching for a birthday present for a nerd friend of mine. I was very happy to find an USB Rocket Launcher on getdigital.de. But there was one problem: The software to control it was only usable on Windows and the other open source projects sucked in terms of UX. So I used NodeJS to connect to the device on the system itself, used ExpressJS to create a web application and AngularJS for the client. I will give an introduction into all technologies used and what I did to control the Rocket Launcher from the front- to the backend.
